Citizens of both Canada and the United States are now required to present a valid passport at the U.S. Preclearance Facility - located at major Canadian airports - prior to boarding their flight to the United States.
Citizens of both Canada and the United States, if entering by land or water after January 31, 2008, must be prepared to present either a valid Passport or a government issued photo ID (such as a driver's license) and a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship.
