• LL.B. Bachelor of Laws - the first professional degree in law (Canada).
• LL.M. Master of Laws - an advanced degree in a specialized area of law (Canada, U.S.).
• J.D. Juris Doctor - The first professional degree in law (U.S.).
• Q.C. Queen's Counsel; this is an honorary title used in Canada and other Commonwealth countries indicating seniority in the legal profession.
• B.C.L Bachelor of Civil Law (Canada).
