There is a good chance that you do not need every single item in your luggage. Some of the gear and items you packed might not only be unnecessary.

travel items packing

  • Toiletries

Do not bother to bring a whole toiletries bag if your hotel already provides them. The quality of these items might not be the best, but they are usually free of charge. We recommend taking advantage of this to free up your bags. Your body and bank account will thank you for this.

  • Denim

There is no garment quite like denim. It is great because it is long-lasting and versatile. However, the fabric is heavy and eats up a ton of space no matter how tightly you fold it. Our tip is to simply wear your favorite pair of jeans on the flight to and from the destination.

  • Styling Tools

Do you really need your straightener, blow-dryer, and curling iron on your trip? Everyone wants to look presentable, but it can be inconvenient to take all of these things with you. The good news is that most hotels provide a hairdryer and maybe even a straightener. If this is a big deal to you, make sure to book a room that offers these tools for free.

  • Towels and Linen

There is typically no need to bring your own towels and bedsheets. The vast majority of hotels and other forms of accommodation will have them ready for you. It is rather questionable if your room does not offer something as basic as this provision.

  • Food

It is understandable if you want to get a snack for the flight. However, avoid taking too much food with you. Are you trying to save some money? If this is the case, you should just buy staple items at a local store upon arrival. On top of that, this will allow you to try the delicacies in the area. This is one of our favorite parts of traveling, so try not to miss out!

  • Impractical Shoes

Make sure only to bring shoes that suit your travel plans. Consider the terrain and weather of the destination on your travel dates as well. Shoes tend to take up a lot of space, so opt for something comfortable. As a rule of thumb, do not wear anything that has not been broken in yet. Inappropriate footwear can lead to accidents, so do not take this piece of advice lightly!

Final Words

When traveling through Canada and other parts of the world, try to remember that you do not have to be prepared for every possible contingency. After all, there is a good chance that you will find whatever you need at the destination. Always do your research to have a better idea of what you need and what you don’t.
